Just 24 miles east of Stovepipe Wells Village is the Furnace Creek Inn & Ranch Resort, a private resort situated in a lush oasis encircled by the vast and arid desert of Death Valley National Park. For the golfer, Furnace Creek features the world's lowest 18-hole golf course, 214 feet below sea level. Horseback riding, tennis, the Death Valley National Park Visitor Center and the Borax Museum are also available at Furnace Creek.
Breathtaking Mosaic Canyon, just behind Stovepipe Wells, offers a view of surrealistic sand dunes — the most photographed sand dunes in the world.
Historic Scotty's Castle stands just 51 miles northeast of Stovepipe Wells. National Park Service tours as well as gas, snack bar and gifts are also available.
